NS12PF Upgrade adds Redundant Fiber Optic Link
30 march 2009
The XLNT NS12PF, a 12 port PoE Ethernet Switch with 2 Fiber Optic 1gb links, has been upgraded to include a Redundant Fiber Optic Link, thanks to recent updates to the unit’s firmware.
The new link allows these Ethernet Switches to be connected in a ring via the Fiber Optic ports, so that unplugging or damaging a cable will be instantly resolved and network communication will remain operational. It does not matter which cable is faulty or gone, the signal is re-routed automatically in milliseconds. The Redundant Fiber Optic Link requires no setup, it is automatically engaged when the ring is physically connected.
This important backup feature allows clients to guarantee the stability of their network communication, in which the weakest link has always been the cable.
Now, with this feature, XLNT Data can offer their clients an even more robust networking solution.
A free upgrade is available to existing NS12PF users.
The NS12PF Ethernet Switch is being very well received in the market, and is being used on several CyberHoist projects, including the last Madonna World Tour.
